Well it was an interesting day.
I spent time exploring Live-journal to see what's out there and to learn more about it. I made some posts to friends sites and decided that I would begin to write some musings down, i.e participate (oooh).
So here is my first "journal entry".
Crystal, our cat, had her yearly checkup on Saturday. At 12 years old, we have a proverbial kitten. She runs around like a nut and sometimes forgets she is as old as she is. She did sprain her knee about 6 months ago so besides the usual exam, they did a recheck on the knee. She passed with flying colors and is good for another year.
A little side note here: For those of you who did not know, I have been working as a temp for some time now and let's just say it's been rough. Well the good news is that things have changed for the better. I now have a job that will advance my career and help me reach my goals both personally and career wise. So this is a good thing.
Which brings me to the rest of our Saturday.
Can we say SHOPPING!?!?! The new job has me using a laptop for this first time in my career and my life. So Malcolum and I went out to get some items to make my life a bit easier.
The first item on the agenda was a Laptop Snap-sack. The regular laptop bag was just too aggravating to my back with my arthritis. We found a really nice one from Swiss-Gear. Unfortunately, when trying to load it up for the job, I found out that I need to get the larger one. So it's off to make an exchange today, Yeah :|.
The next item was an external keyboard/mouse. We decided that the wireless model would be the best bet so off we went. Three store later, we found a set that I liked with the best price so we got it. I tested last night on the home PC and I really like it. We will probably get the same set up for my home PC by the end of the month.
Then there was; grocery shopping, cleaning house, the usual stuff, until the evening.
We had Robert of Blackwood over for dinner and some socializing. We hadn't seen him in a while because of some minor surgery that he had, so it was good to catch up. We then went over to the Baron Cerdic's house with the PCs and had a LAN party.
All in all it was a good day.
